Mongolia

Ben Hodson experienced the trip of a lifetime, travelling to Mongolia with 5 mates. The trip involved riding KTM 450 motorbikes across the majestic landscape to the birthplace of Genghis Khan. The drone footage, shot by Hamish Wilson is breathtaking and Simon Lister filmed and edited together a beautiful doco of the trip.

The Legend of Ben Hall

Ben Hodson has completed directing Second Unit on an exciting new feature film titled The Legend of Ben Hall. The movie, written and directed by Matthew Holmes has an incredibly talented cast, authentic costumes and production design, action-packed stunts and horsemanship and was filmed in some spectacular scenic locations in Central Victoria. Give Frank a Break screens at Flickerfest 2015

The success of environmental short film “Give Frank a Break” continues with a screening in competition at Flickerfest 2015.  The film was warmly received by the enthusiastic audience at Bondi Beach and was introduced on the night by the Australian Marine Conservation Society. Hopefully the film’s important message is gaining momentum and encouraging people to use less plastic. www.givefrankabreak.org.au

Give Frank a Break – The Australian Marine Conservation Society

The Pearl Film Company has worked with The Australian Marine Conservation Society to help produce a short film with an important message. The film stars the wonderful comic artist Frank Woodley as a fisherman with a cause and was shot at St Kilda and Elwood beaches. Directed by Nick Fletcher, the films aim is to encourage all of us to use less plastic. It has been screening via social media and was recently released by Frank himself on The Project.

DANONE ACTIVIA

Ben’s recent directing work with agency GPY&R helped to create the latest tvc for DANONE ACTIVIA. The spot was shot via The Directors Group and stars the very talented and super funny stand-up comic FELICITY WARD. She was a pleasure to work with and managed to seamlessly glide from the stage at the Edinburgh Festival to the film set in Australia and back again without missing a beat. Special mention goes to the beautiful Border Collie, STAR who’s scenes with FELICITY created many brilliant comic moments, too many unfortunately to make the final cut.

METRICON

The Pearl Film Company has produced a cheeky new tvc for Metricon Homes. The spot is directed by Ben Hodson with the story involving a woman speaking flirtatiously on the phone. The mum comes undone after her daughter matter-of-factly informs her Dad. Innocently, it is revealed to be a Metricon Supervisor following up on the families new home build. Cinematography was captured by Simon Ozlins.

BIRDS EYE

The Pearl Film Company is very proud to have produced the ‘live action’ elements for the new, animated, tv campaign for Birds Eye. The project was a close collaboration with Iloura Melbourne who designed the wonderful animated characters and post elements.
